Washington Days: March 7-9 2018 Capitol Hill Washington, DC
NHF’s Washington Days is an opportunity for people affected by bleeding disorders to advocate for issues that are important to them. Last year’s Washington Days had more than 500 volunteer advocates from 47 states that met with legislators and staff to discuss maintaining key patient protections in the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Hemophilia Federation of America (HFA) Symposium: April 26-29 2018 Cleveland, OH
Symposium is an annual community-centered educational event that draws hundreds of members from the bleeding disorders community together to share information, learn new advancements, and build a network of support!
National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) Annual Meeting: October 11-13, 2018 Orlando, FL

Allowable expenses include: Conference and childcare registration fees, lodging, parking, gas (not mileage), parking at hotel. Special Note: Families who have a family member working for an industry company and that family member is attending to work the event, HOI welcomes your family to apply and would be willing to coordinate a grant with the industry company so their family may participate in this opportunity if interested. This individual/family would be held to the same expectations as noted above to receive reimbursement. HOI will not provide any financial assistance for a member of industry to attend to perform their job duties.Reimbursement Details:This grant is a reimbursement. All travel and conference arrangements will be the responsibility of the individual/family to make. Expenses must be paid for by you/your family and after the conference we will reimburse you when proper documentation has been submitted (detailed receipts, proof of attendance and photo/recap to HOI are required.
If you are selected to attend, there are expectations of your attendance.
1. Attend as many sessions as possible during the conference.
2.Write a brief summary of the session you attended and what you enjoyed
about the conference (this summary may be included in our BloodLine
3. Provide a photo of you/your family at the conference.
4.If requested, be willing to visit with Hemophilia of Iowa, Inc. Board
Members via conference call and give a recap of your experience.
